The Watermark Hotel is an all-suite hotel located in Capital One Center, featuring 300 luxury residential suites with lavish, upscale furnishings, abundant space to unwind, and a hospitality team dedicated to setting a new definition of luxury. This position as Conference Services Manager is responsible for ensuring overall effective operations of all meetings, including adherence to all health regulations and liquor laws. Uses leadership skills to drive revenue, maximize profit, and ensure quality. Accountable for management of assigned staff to ensure achievement of overall financial results, guest satisfaction, and positive team member relations.

Responsibilities:
- Review file to understand cut off dates ,and details of program, if any questions reach out to the Sales/Catering Manager to address.
- Manage all aspects of group meetings and events (except single time social) to include but not limited to building group blocks, uploading rooming lists, meeting space, room setup, food, beverage, and audio-visual requirements.
- Communicate all details of meetings and events via Banquet Event Orders and diagrams.
- Conducts formal pre-event meetings as required to review/communicate group needs.
- Ensure proper and prompt follow up on all correspondence with client and hotel.
- Attain guarantees and final payment as needed.
- Monitor Cut-off Dates.
- Communicate rooming list updates to client on a weekly basis.
- Collaborate with Director of Sales and Director of Revenue to manage group room blocks effectively including cut-off sates, rooming lists, etc.
- Collaborate with all other operational departments to communicate group details via the group resume pertaining to arrival/departures, billings, special requests, etc.
- Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings.
- Provides excellent customer service to increase share of the account.
- Adhere to all standards, policies, and procedures and consistently maintain a professional and ethical representation within the Sales and Catering Department.
- Perform other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- College degree or equivalent experience required. Serve Safe, TIPS or CARE beverage service certification or the ability to obtain certification is required.
- At least 2+ years in a sales environment.
- Must have the ability to communicate well with all levels within and outside the organization and be able to problem-solve with team members and guests.
- Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 20 pounds on occasional basis.
- Requires ability to work extended hours based on business needs, with physically demanding responsibilities such as walking, standing, carrying, and lifting throughout the extended shift.
- Prefer experience with venue of similar size, volume, and reputation for focus on guest satisfaction. Basic knowledge of culinary operation, restaurant, conference center and beverage service. EEO AA M/F/Vet/Disabled
