OverviewThe position of Head Golf Professional at Park Ridge Country Club is a special opportunity to lead a high performing golf operation at a member owned Club. The Head Golf Professional is responsible for all golf, tournament, and merchandising operations. The Head Professional leads a seasonal team of approximately 20, which includes three Assistant Professionals, a Shop Manager, Caddie Manager, and Outside Services Staff. The successful candidate will be a consummate professional, who promotes and grows the game, while delivering memorable experiences for our members, families, and guests.
ABOUT THE CLUB
Park Ridge Country Club is located just outside the City of Chicago along the Northwest Train line. Since 1906, PRCC has been an integral part of the community and provided a recreational sanctuary for our families. There are currently more than 600 Members in all categories who enjoy golf, tennis, swimming, paddle tennis, a la carte, social and banquet amenities. The 18-hole parkland style course was routed by three classic architects (H.J Tweedie, Tom Bendelow & William Langford), and most recently restored by David Esler in 2001. The Club is a founding member of the CDGA and has strong ties to the Western Golf Association. PRCC has hosted multiple tournaments, including the 1944 Women's Western Open, 2017 Western Junior, 2021 Women's Western Amateur, and is poised to host the 2027
Women's Western Junior. The 40,000sq ft. Georgian Style Clubhouse was built in 1925 and has undergone many transformations over the years. The Club enjoys a very active and engaged family-oriented membership and maintains a significant waitlist to join.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
Park Ridge Country Club operates under the General Manager/Chief Operating Officer organizational structure. The Head Golf Pro Reports Directly to the GM/COO while collaborating with the other department heads.
Experience Required
• Bachelors degree preferred in Golf Operations Management, or related field
• Extensive experience in private club operations is required
Essential Responsibilities
Golf Operations Management
• Oversee daily golf play
• Track and verify all players and guests, green fees, golf cars, club care, handicap fees, and other charges necessary, and facilitate accurate accounting
• Oversee golf car fleet while ensuring proper maintenance and recordkeeping
• Manage an innovative tournament program, group outings, and leagues that service all membership segments
• Oversee the daily operations of all practice facilities
• Provide club repair and fitting services
• Ensure the proper storage, safety, and cleaning of member's golf equipment
• Play golf with a variety of members and/or guests as time permits
• Administer the Rules of Golf and educate the staff and membership
• Develop, maintain, and update golf software databases
Retail Management
• Oversee retail merchandise operation
• Maintain a profitable golf merchandising operation
• Oversee the development of buying plans and all golf related purchasing
• Supervise physical inventories, present a diverse and desirable array of golf equipment, apparel, accessories
• Utilize POS system to manage inventories
• Establish accurate recordkeeping policies and procedures
• Supervise and train all golf shop staff to maximize sales opportunities
• Ensure member database includes and tracks important dates, spending, sizes, preferences
• Maintain the attractive and orderly appearance in and around the golf shop
• Conduct accurate inventory counts
Player Development
• Develop, provide, and oversee an enhanced golf instruction program offering individual and group clinics for all
levels. Ensure that the services of professional instructors are available where required
• Develop and oversee player development programs
• Focus on programs for women, families, seniors, and juniors
• Assist with the training of the full facility staff in regard to player development and encourage their participation
• Work with employer to develop Player Development marketing
Golf Administration
• Recruit, hire, train, motivate, and supervise all golf staff and maintain budgeted payroll • Ensure evaluations and annual reviews are completed for all applicable staff
• Attend weekly leadership meetings as scheduled by GM/COO and schedule staff meetings with golf operations personnel as needed
• Update and maintain golf shop policies, procedures and job descriptions and ensure they are adhered to
• Maintain safety standards and safety equipment within OSHA requirements
• Assist in the publications of weekly/monthly newsletters, instructional videos, and promotional materials
• Participate in and evaluate comparison data in the local marketplace
• Oversee the administration of the golf handicap program
• Work closely with Sports & Pastimes and Grounds & Greens committees to channel member feedback, recommend policy changes and coordinate golf events.
• Adhere to, enforce, and implement the policies and procedures of the Club
Business and Financial
• Responsible for the financial and operational performance of the golf operations
• Ensure all financial goals and objectives are being achieved
• Assist in the development and preparation of budgets, including forecasting and review of all golf operations revenues and expenses on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis
• Ensure systems controls are in place to safeguard assets, revenues, and resources
Other Facility/Departmental Responsibilities
• Work closely with all department heads to achieve the overall goals and objectives of the Club
• Maintain a close working relationship with the Golf Course Superintendent and provide advice on course playability and tournament set up
• Assist the Communications manager in the development of internal and external promotional materials and facilitate the orientation of new members
• Coordinate plans with the AGM and Executive Chef for food and beverage needs on all golf functions
