The role involves designing and maintaining scalable cloud environments, streamlining CI/CD workflows, and collaborating with development teams to design infrastructure that supports reliable, scalable, and efficient application delivery. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable writing and maintaining code that supports system functionality and performance.
Key competencies include:
• Design and implement hybrid cloud environments that integrate legacy systems with AWS, using custom orchestration and automation.
• Build and manage containerized applications using Docker, and orchestrate deployments with Kubernetes, including Amazon EKS and OpenShift.
• Experience managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, including build automation, testing, and deployment.
• Integrate security best practices into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation, ensuring that code deployments and system configurations meet compliance and security standards from the outset.
• Collaborate with development teams to understand application requirements and translate them into infrastructure and deployment strategies.
• Ability to write and maintain code that supports infrastructure and system operations, aligned with technical and functional requirements.
• Use tools like Terraform and Ansible to manage infrastructure as code and ensure consistent environments.
• Monitor and optimize cloud resources across AWS services such as EKS, ECS, EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC, Elastic Beanstalk, and Route 53.
• Troubleshoot deployment issues and provide guidance on performance tuning and scalability.
• Maintain clear documentation for infrastructure setups, deployment processes, and operational procedures.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
• Strong communication skills to effectively articulate design and implementation strategies.
• Experience working with a broad range of open-source technologies and tools.
• A commitment to regular, incremental testing and deployment of code.
• Design and develop internal tools and automation scripts to proactively detect, resolve, and prevent infrastructure and deployment issues, improving system reliability and operational efficiency.
• Expertise in automation tools and frameworks.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to work across functional teams and communicate openly.
Mandatory Skills:
• Expertise in designing and implementing hybrid cloud architectures that integrate on-premises systems with AWS using custom-built orchestration layers
• Demonstrated experience in a team leadership role, with the ability to guide and mentor technical teams effectively.
• Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including hands-on work with EKS and OpenShift in production environments.
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes architecture - including cluster setup, networking, RBAC, Helm charts, and scaling strategies.
• Proven ability to configure and manage Jenkins pipelines for CI/CD, covering build, test, deployment, and release workflows.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps principles, including embedding security checks into CI/CD workflows, managing secrets securely, and implementing automated vulnerability scanning and compliance validation.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or Ruby for automation and tooling.
• Experience with AWS services and infrastructure management using Terraform and Ansible.
• Ability to write and maintain code that supports infrastructure and system operations, aligned with technical and functional requirements.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
• Experience building custom automation tools and utilities to support proactive monitoring, issue resolution, and operational workflows across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Hands-on experience managing CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD.
• Experience working with distributed computing platforms, particularly Kubernetes.
• Experience with Configuration Management systems such as puppet, ansible, chef, etc.
• Strong Linux Knowledge
• A proactive mindset with a focus on reliability, scalability, and security.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead the design and implementation of hybrid cloud strategies, including the development of orchestration layers that enable smooth integration and management across cloud and on-premises systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement cloud-native applications that integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructure.
• Configure and manage Jenkins pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes, supporting continuous integration and delivery across multiple environments.
• Embed security controls and checks into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation workflows, ensuring that deployments meet compliance standards and proactively address vulnerabilities.
• Write and maintain clean, well-documented code and scripts that support infrastructure automation, system integrations, and performance optimization.
• Participate in code reviews and testing cycles to ensure software quality and alignment with technical specifications.
• Build and deploy containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, with hands-on experience managing clusters in Amazon EKS and OpenShift.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the software stack, including deployment failures, performance bottlenecks, and integration challenges.
• Use tools like Terraform and Ansible to define and manage infrastructure as code, ensuring consistency and repeatability in environment provisioning.
• Maintain technical documentation for system configurations, deployment processes, and operational procedures.
• Support junior developers by providing technical guidance and sharing best practices in DevOps, automation, and cloud development.
• Monitor system health and performance, conduct routine maintenance, and implement diagnostic solutions to ensure reliability and uptime.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into scalable software and infrastructure solutions.
• Ensure all development and deployment activities adhere to security standards and network protocols.
